Third Drubwang Penor Rinpoche passed away in India which makes it interesting in calendar terms. In India it was 28th of March and in USA it was still 27th. Then because Penor Rinpoche was most important master for Tibetans there is Tibetan Calendar that can be used, it uses phases of the moon, according to lunar calendar it is 2nd month, 1st day. 1st day of 2nd month in 2019 coincides with April 6th. And this year it is 10 years ago.
I was very fortunate to meet Rinpoche in person for five years in a row and to receive life changing instructions from. Looking back I feel strange nostalgia come over, it was time before social media and before “selfies” could be taken with others. People did take pictures and I remember that I owned digital camera but seldom used it.
Selfishly every time meeting Rinpoche privately, in a group or during ceremonies was about my best attempts to “just be there”. Needless to say i failed at many picture ops.
